I create black & white artwork in pencil, charcoal, and pastel; working in my studio and occasionally on location drawing a variety of subjects, including landscapes, still lifes, animals and figures. I believe light, value, composition and line are important in telling my story or conveying a feeling on my view of the world; from the smallest bloom to the largest landscape. My art is a way to connect with the world around me. I live and work in Columbus, Ohio; am the co-owner, along with my husband/artist Kevin Buckland, of Buckland Gillespie Design, a graphic design studio and co-chair / planner of the Art At The Arnold; a three day art competition that is held annually during the Arnold Sports Festival.
